Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

CoBriefiT ("we", "us") is a browser extension and companion website that helps aviation crew turn their own training content into revision notes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. We've tried to keep it plain.

The short version. The notes and images CoBriefiT captures come from training you are viewing. Free "quick briefings" are produced entirely on your own device and never leave it. Only when you choose to generate an AI briefing is the captured text (and, where relevant, captured images) sent to our processing service to write the briefing — and it is not used to train any AI model or kept longer than needed to produce your result.

What CoBriefiT captures

When you press Start, the extension reads the content of the training slides you are viewing:

CoBriefiT is read-only: it does not click, advance, submit answers, or alter your training or its completion record. It only reads what is already on screen.

Where captured content is stored

When content is sent to our service (AI briefings)

If you choose to generate an AI briefing (a Pro feature, with one free sample per 30 days), the captured text — and captured images only where the module contains a labelled set that benefits from image matching — is sent over an encrypted connection to our processing service, which uses a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic) to generate your briefing. In that process:

Please avoid capturing content you are not permitted to process off-device. You are responsible for ensuring you may use your training materials in this way.

Account & payment data

Anonymous usage identifier

To enforce the "one free AI briefing per 30 days" allowance, the extension generates a random identifier stored on your device. It is not linked to your name and is used only for that counting purpose.
